.Net Framework 1.1 cannot install

Whenever I am at the end of installing .net 1.1 a window shows up sayin
this

cannot load recouces form resource file please check your setu

then the window comes back imediately after closing saying

cannot load recouces form resource file please check your setu

then it is two more windows designed in different ways saying that
should contact customer services if problem persists but thats like a
$80 minimu

I have tryed to find the other versions of .net to uninstall they coul
not be found..

but they were there because when I ran the .net framework cleanin
utility 'Aaron Stebner's WebLog : Automated cleanup tool to remove th
.NET Framework 1.0, 1.1, 2.0, 3.0 and 3.5
(http://blogs.msdn.com/astebner/archive/2006/05/30/611355.aspx) in th
logs it said I had 2.0 and 3.

Should I just rollback the computer or is there a solution to thi
madness

Look into the folder C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework
to find out which versions are already installed.

To install .NET Framework 1.1 download dotnetfx.exe from
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=262d25e3-f589-4842-8157-034d1e7cf3a3
(change language to the language of your system)
and save the file to your disk. Right click dotnetfx.exe and execute
as administrator.

In case there are more problems, ask in the support newsgroup
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.dotnet.framework
